Only a week before the 2007 24 Hours of Le Mans, an Australian motorsport web specialist – Jon Hart – was invited to join an Italian Porsche team – Autorlando Sport – for the week long event. Autorlando was making its Le Mans debut with a new Porsche 997 GT3 RSR. It was also the smallest team in pitlane and was taking on a rookie driver – Allan Simonsen (DK) – to join Le Mans regulars Lars Erik Nielsen (DK) and Pierre Ehret (D). What they wanted from the Adelaide based South Australian was some media coverage. Hart quickly decided that what fans wanted was a different approach to sports media reporting and set about creating a web experience that would tell the teams story of Le Mans as the week unravelled. At the end everyone was happy with the team coming home a superb 3rd place in the ultra competitive GT2 class. But there were troubles from the start. British Airways lost Hart's bags (which turned up 5 weeks later!) with all the camera, video and audio equipment. He arrived with just his laptop, a charger and the shirt on his back and set to work, on his own. You can check out the 2007 event here.

This year he's back and so are his bags. But now he has two teams to work – Kruse Schiller Motorsport who will run a Lola Mazda in LMP2 and Farnbacher Racing with their Ferrari 430 GT2. Nielsen and Ehret are back as well, in the Ferrari. So is Simonsen, who recieved a last minute call from Kai Kruse to join the team only a week ago. Le Mans Series regular, Pierre Kaffer (D) is very fast and he's also in the Ferrari. Japanese driver Hideki Noda is a regular driver with KSM pairing with Singapore based Jean de Portales. It's a young team with plenty of ambition. And Jean has a prosthetic arm. Here's my story of the week, blow by blow, and remember it's work in progress so you'll most likely find some errors as I get more and more tired! Tell me if you spot some mistakes. Feel totally free to tell me if you like it as well ;) Enjoy it. Cheers – Jon.

What this really means is that I slacked off towards the end of the race week and only got
to process this stuff after the race. I figure you'll be able to sus out where it fits though.
See you again in '09.
